Natalie Sowards is a birth assistant as well as a birth and postpartum doula. She has studied health and wellness academically and culturally on the Navajo reservation and the island of Hawai’i. Her personal birth journey became more extensive after having three babies of her own. She has been certified through DONA as a birth doula, Cuarentena postpartum training, and certified in the traditional Chinese method of placenta encapsulation through IPPA.
Natalie has lived in a community house that focused on permaculture and caring for the land. During this time, she had the unique opportunity to pursue the benefits of human nutrition interests from both an academic and cultural perspective.
Natalie’s desire to become a doula stems from her own anxiety about giving birth. Her passion is to bring enlightenment, compassion, and empowerment into the realm of birth, and she has found a welcoming home of like-minded support at Blossom.
